Excellent food, but vegetarians beware, this is a meat eaters paradise. Full of locals, which is always a good sign. The meat platters are huge and a great option (either pork/beef/lamb or sausages/burgers/meat skewers - see photo), and all come with fries, so you will probably over-order like we did. The meat is cooked to order and to your specification, from very rare to well done to chatted, if this is your preference! Iwas told that the goat fillet was out of this world, but did not have it myself. All in all, a great place for meat eaters. If you drive, beware, parking is not easy. We were a party of 9 and we probably ordered enough food for 14 people, and with drinks and service charge we paid 33 euros/£29 per head. Very very tasty. The picanha was perfectly grilled to a medium cook. The flap steak had more fat on it than I like but was still tasty. Service good as well.

We’ve been visiting Mavro Alati in Chalandri at least once a week since it opened. The quality of the food and the service has always been stable and reliable.
The meat cuts are interesting, well-prepared, and side dishes are made with fresh ingredients. The team is friendly, polite, and attentive.
In terms of the restaurant’s positioning, prices are absolutely fair - making the overall experience genuinely value for money. Of course, if someone is looking specifically for ultra-premium cuts and rare meats, there are other restaurants that cater to that. But for what Mavro Alati offers, the balance between quality, atmosphere, and pricing is spot on.
The only thing we feel is missing is a dessert option. Even one or two simple choices would nicely complete the meal.

Had a great evening, extra nice because we choice our meat at the boucher from the restaurant. Menu is in greek so use google translate and be shure to be amazed. If I could give 6 stars this would be a 7.
